Invisible Hand

2024, screen print on paper with household dust and glue, 11 x 14 in

Invisible Hand explores the disproportionate burden of domestic work on women and the cultural stereotypes that reinforce gender inequality. Using vacuum bag debris as my primary material, I am interested in the friction created by elevating this otherwise disposable matter and making invisible labor visible. By taking this debris, the byproduct of my work as a primary caregiver, and featuring it in my prints, I am drawing attention to the often overlooked, undervalued work of mothers, caregivers, and domestic workers.
